With 150 members, BMES helps educate the bioengineering community and engineering community as a whole about the multidisciplinary nature of bioengineering and its various career opportunities. This past year, BMES hosted 8 academic development activities, 8 professional development activities, and 9 outreach/community service activities.
The oldest engineering honor society and second oldest honor society in the U.S.
Part of a 600,000+ member network, this invitation-only engineering society offers access to members-only scholarships and fellowships, awarded to our bioengineering alumni like Kimberly Bennett, who was also the previous president of this UCR student chapter.
Empowering womxn in engineering
SWE is driven by members who are passionate about supporting Womxn to achieve full potential in their careers as engineers and leaders. The chapter hosts numerous outreach opportunities encouraging young students to pursue STEM fields, including Bourns Science and Engineering Day and Rose Hack, the region's first women-centric hackathon.
